Hold the glasses gently by the bridge or at the hinge area, rather than gripping the temples. Rinse both sides of the lenses under a light stream of lukewarm water. This first rinse is not optional when there is visible dust, grit or salt on the lenses. Wiping dry particles across the surface can create fine scratches, particularly on lenses with anti-reflective, blue-light filtering or mirror coatings.
